Our journey: two decades of growth and impact

Since 2004, the Somali American Community Association has served as a trusted, Somali‑led institution supporting our community’s growth and resilience. We began by helping new immigrants navigate their first steps in the United States, ensuring they had access to resources, dignity, and a sense of belonging. Over the past decade, our community has transformed. The children of those early immigrants are now thriving: excelling in schools, entering professional fields, contributing to their cities, and shaping the future of Somali American identity with confidence and pride. As our community has grown, so has our mission.

Our leadership is drawn directly from the Somali American community, ensuring cultural fluency and inherent trust.

Today, we focus on protecting civil rights, strengthening Somali leadership across key professions, and building the institutions our community deserves. We remain rooted in Somali expertise, Somali vision, and Somali power — committed to serving both the first generation and the rising generation that is redefining what it means to be Somali American. This evolution reflects our strength, our unity, and our belief in a future built by us, for us.
